Tax ID 354689-192-000-0001-014-030-0000 is referenced the subdivided lot listed. Stone fences and barbed wire are found along the road and boundaries of this recently surveyed, 40.56-acre parcel. Access is via seasonal use, an abandoned Town road. The property survey included flagging, painting, and blazoning boundary lines, as well as locating existing corner markers or placing new ones. Land characteristics include a rolling terrain, where old pastures have returned to forest. A beaver pond fed by a tributary to the South Branch of the Little Salmon River, a class C Trout Stream, occupies ~1.5 acres in the northeast corner, along the National Grid transmission line. For a larger catch, travel 25 minutes north to the Salmon River, famous for its king and coho salmon, brown trout, steelhead, and rainbow trout, or Lake Ontario for more of the same, plus walleye, bass, pike, and perch. Half of the acreage consists of moderate to well-drained ground, where white pine and better-quality hardwoods, including sugar and red maple, birch, cherry, ash, basswood, beech, and aspen, are found. The moderately to poorly drained ground is dominated by eastern hemlock and lower-quality red maple and yellow birch. The last timber harvest occurred approximately 10 years ago. Existing logging trails will make excellent cross-country snowshoeing, hiking, birdwatching, and ATV trails. Game species include whitetail deer, snowshoe bear, snowshoe hare, ruffed grouse, turkey, and a mixed bag of waterfowl. Electric and communication utilities are unavailable. Designated as abandoned, Huested Road is not plowed or maintained by the Town. National Grid owns land along the eastern boundary of the property and has deeded a right-of-way to the creek. Also, National Grid would like to acquire an option to purchase an easement to widen the adjacent existing transmission line. All other rights transfer to the new owner. People from all over come to this region for its excellent outdoor attractions, rural atmosphere, and friendly, welcoming residents. The Syracuse International Airport is located off 81, just north of the city. Snowmobile trail C5 runs within the transmission line easement.
